New Coach at CFB and CFM!
Please join me in welcoming Andrew Parkes to our team.
Before finding CrossFit, Coach Andrew spent a number of years dabbling in everything from bodybuilding style weight training to Spinning to Yoga to running marathons.
Frustrated with boredom and a lack of measurable progress, he walked into CrossFit Altitude in Burlington looking for something new. After witnessing people killing themselves to finish the WOD (with the music cranked and weights crashing to the floor), he knew he was in the right place.
Since then, he has become addicted to the intensity and community of CrossFit. He received his CrossFit Level I certification earlier this year and began coaching shortly thereafter. He is currently a member of CrossFit Altitude's competitive team and training for the 2013 CrossFit Games.
Coach Andrew is married to his beautiful wife of 5 years, Beth. They have one son, Cole who is 15 months old and destined to be the CrossFit Games individual champion in 2025 (after Lucas Possamai and Nicholas Schutz retire).
Andrew loves coaching athletes - helping them reach their goals and push through any mental barriers holding them back from their true potential.
New Massage Therapist at CFM
Please join me in welcoming Treela Smith, RMT to our team.
Treela will be providing massage therapy at CFM every Monday from 5-7pm starting October 15th.
Treela Graduated from Kikkawa College in 1999 and has a wealth of knowledge in advanced treatment of acute and overuse/chronic injuries and aches. Whether it’s deep tissue therapeutic work or stress reduction from a long day’s work, she’ll tailor the treatment to address your needs. She incorporates trigger point therapy and joint mobilizations into her treatments, where necessary.
Her experience has included various types of environments such as Physiotherapy clinics, a Wellness spa, Massage Therapy clinics, and Chiropractic clinics. This has allowed her to treat a wide range of conditions including sports injuries; post-surgical; chronic conditions; pregnancy, and general wellness.
Treela is able to pinpoint physiological manifestations from emotional and work related stress as it appears in the body.
